October 1st, 2023

        Today marks the beginning of my new assignment in the coastal town of Innsmouth. The townsfolk here are peculiar, to say the least. Their stares seem to pierce through my very being, as if they know something I don't.
       
        The smell of salt and decay lingers in the air, mixing with the stench of fish. Chief O'Malley assured me it's just the local industry, but I can't shake this feeling of unease.  
        
        Nevertheless, duty calls.
